Joseph L. Grzeskiewicz, M.D., F.A.C.S.

After graduating from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia, Dr. Grzeskiewicz went to San Diego, California for surgical internship at U.S. Naval Hospital San Diego. He then attended the U.S. Naval Aerospace Medicine Institute in Pensacola, Florida where he completed training to become a Navy flight surgeon. After 4 years at Camp Pendleton and Okinawa, Japan with the Marines as a flight surgeon, he returned to surgical training at the University of Missouri Hospitals and Clinics where he completed an integrated general and plastic surgery residency, a fellowship in aesthetic surgery in Miami, Florida with Drs. James Baker – who popularized the use of the phenol peel, and James Stuzin – who developed the extended SMAS facelift technique, and one final year of fellowship training at UVA. He began private practice in San Diego in 1999.

Currently a board certified plastic surgeon in private practice in La Jolla, California, Dr. “G” devotes his practice to elective aesthetic surgery. He has interests in breast and body contouring surgery, facial rejuvenation surgery, and non-surgical injectable treatments. He was a co-founder of Luminesse Medical Spa in Poway, California, and he authored a nationally circulated policy and procedure manual to be used by medical spas in the United States. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is the past-president of the San Diego Plastic Surgery Society. Currently he is a member of the active attending staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, California.
